Watt

This article is about the SI derived unit. Watt is also one of Mario's helpers in the video game Paper Mario.

The watt (symbol: W) is the SI derived unit for power. It is equivalent to 1 joule per second (1 J/s), or in electrical units, 1 volt-ampere (1 V · A).

Equations : W = J·s-1 = N·m·s-1 = kg·m2·s-3

The unit of watt was named after James Watt for his contributions to the development of the steam engine, and was adopted by the Second Congress of the British Association for the Advancement of Science in 1889.
