Twin Lakes (Navajo Tsénáhádzoh) is a town located in McKinley County, New Mexico. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,069.


Twin Lakes is located at 35°41'37" North, 108°46'6" West (35.693695, -108.768311)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 23.3 km² (9.0 mi²). 23.3 km² (9.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


As of the census of 2000, there are 1,069 people, 277 households, and 221 families residing in the town. The population density is 45.9/km² (118.7/mi²). There are 368 housing units at an average density of 15.8/km² (40.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 0.19% White, 0.00% African American, 99.16% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 0.75% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 277 households out of which 49.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.8% are married couples living together, 27.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.2% are non-families. 18.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.86 and the average family size is 4.42.

In the town the population is spread out with 40.1% under the age of 18, 10.9% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 14.9% from 45 to 64, and 5.8% who are 65 years of age or older.
