The inheritors are a breed of cold and materialistic people coming from the fourth dimensions whose task is substituting the ineffectual.

The Inheritors is also the title of a 1955 novel by the British author William Golding, better known for Lord of the Flies. It was his personal favorite of all his novels and concerns the extinction of the last remaining tribe of Neanderthals at the hands of the more sophisticated (and evil) newly evolved Homo sapiens.
