Predator (movie)

Predator is a 1987 science fiction movie that was directed by John McTiernan. It featured actors Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Sonny Landham, Elpidia Carrillo, Richard Chaves, and Jesse Ventura. Energetic and full of machismo, the movie was successful enough (earning $60 million in the United States alone) to generate a sequel, Predator 2, in 1990. The mission began when 5 US Special Forces soldiers are recruited by the CIA to rescue the cabinet minister of Guatemala and also to find and rescue Special Forces soldiers held captive by guerillas forces operating deep in the jungles of this country, well before the guerillas kill the hostages for espionage. Soon after they roped out of the chopper, the soldiers began looking for traces of other units and even the cabinet minister itself, instead they find a crashed chopper disassembled, and some of them, argued that this helicopter appears to be a "reconnaissance bird" rather than a regular military chopper. later on the mission, they also discovered three dead US soldiers hanging, all of them mutilated horribly, possibly killed by the Predator. The search and rescue mission continued, they soon discovered the guerrilla post and the hostages being held there. When a Russian military advisor killed the last hostage, the Special Forces orders all soldiers to rally with him and to make the strike move. The firefight begins, and ends with all guerilla men killed and a female prisoner in their hands they then call for extraction. When their command refused to pick them in the guerilla camp, they find out have to cross the border of the country without being detected by guerillas inside the jungle that awaits them. The Predator went to the guerilla camp silently and took a look around. Later on, one of Schaefer's soldiers suspects that something is moving in the trees but he can't see what it is.

The prisoner soon picks up a small log and smashed the face of one of the soldiers with it and then escapes.

The Predator was skulking nearby and followed her and the soldier trying to catch her. When the long run is finished, the Predator kills the soldier by severing his jugular. The Predator then picks up the body and blends into the trees. The team arrived, only to find the girl covered with blood. Nevertheless, there was a large blood track that leads back to the team's position from the trees but they don’t find a body. Instead, they argued about the soldier’s whereabouts, and accuse the girl of killing him. The girl told them that the jungle took the soldier away, though no one believed it. They already know that whoever killed the soldier did not take his weapon or communications gear. However, they search the area and find no signs of the soldier's body. The creature hung the body close to the team's location. While the search continued, the Predator was already stalking another soldier, Blain, and soon fired laser weapon at him, blowing open Blain’s chest. Mac heard and explosion and rushed back to Blain's position. The predator was near the body when Mac arrived, and Mac then unloaded his M-60 Machinegun at it, wounding the creature on the left leg. When the soldiers hear the shooting, they also shoot, wasting nearly all their ammunition.

They establish a defensive perimeter with claymore mines, flares and trip wires.

The predator went nearby and pulled out a survival kit and began healing his wounded leg. When it ripped out the bullet lodged in it’s leg, the creature lets out a ferocious scream that was heard by the girl and one Indian soldier in the team. The Predator attacked once again in the night by destroying the defense position possibly by stalking a boar, which triggered all the flare guns and claymore mines. The creature then stole the body of Blain. Early on the afternoon, the soldiers once again mounted a defensive position this time by preparing a net in an attempt to capture the "killer". The creature falls into the trap and brakes free by firing a laser. Another laser cuts a branch that swings down and gravely injurers a soldier.

The predator escaped once more and later went on a killing rampage that finished off all of Schaefer's men save for Major Schaefer and the prisoner.

Schaefer escaped the creature and fell off a cliff into a huge river, he swand down stream before crawling onto the muddy bank. he soon heard a splash, mean that the Predator was still after him. The predator deactivated the electric sheald around his body and searched for Schaefer. It spotted a small heat signature inside a log and activated his shoulder mounted laser cannon. A small mammal ran out of the destroyed log and the Predator continued the search around for it's lost prey. Schaefer waited until the creature was far of his sight and began preparing weapons and traps. Meanwhile the creature cleaned its fallen prey, carrying Billy's body into a tall tree ripping out the vertebrae and cranium of his prey. After nightfall, Schaefer calls out a war cry that was heard by the creature. Schaefer declares war on the creature and the fighting begins with a cat and mouse search that ended with Schaefer's being wounded and the Predator activating a self-destruct device that leave a large amount of jungle burned. The rescue team arrives and pulls Schaefer out of the jungle.

The Predator (species) / alien hunter{ Kevin Peter Hall ) with a neat line of weapons including a shoulder mounted laser cannon, metal armor, wrist computer system, survival kit, wrist mounted double edged blade, cutting tools, and a cloaking divice that bend light rays and turn the creature almost invisible.

An interesting fact about Predator is that three of the movie's stars went on to become gubernatorial candidates, two of whom won. · In 1998, Ventura was elected Governor of Minnesota as the Reform Party candidate. · In 2002, Landham announced his candidacy for Governor of Kentucky as a Republican, switched to independent on December 31, and then dropped out on June 18, 2003, endorsing Republican Ernie Fletcher, who eventually won the election. As of 2004, Landham is seeking the Republican nomination for State Senator from the 27th District. · In 2003, Schwarzenegger was elected Governor of California as a Republican. His election was a result of the recall of Governor Gray Davis. There is also a series of comics, computer games, and a movie that connects Predator with the Alien series, called Alien Vs. Predator.
