Pilatus Aircraft

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. is an aircraft manufacturer located in Stans, Switzerland.

The company was established in 1939, but it was not until 1944 that a Pilatus-built aircraft, the SB-2 Pelican, took to the air. Soon after, in 1945, Pilatus started producing the P-2 trainer for the Swiss Air Force, followed by the P-3 in 1953.

In 1959, the civilian PC-6 Porter was introduced. The popular utility aircraft is still being built today.

Pilatus' most successful plane, the turboprop-powered business plane PC-12 Eagle, was introduced in 1995. The plane is today built by Pilatus Business Aircraft, a subsidiary of Pilatus Aircraft located in Broomfield, Colorado.
