P-36 Hawk

The Curtiss P-36 Hawk, or as it was orginally called, the Curtiss Hawk Model 75, was a US fighter aircraft of WW2. A predecessor of the Curtiss P-40, the aircraft was only produced in limited numbers and had rather luckluster performance compared to its contemporaries. Still some were pressed into service against Japan at the start of US entering the war, and earlier in Europe. The aircraft was obsolete, however and was soon relegated to training duty away from front-line action.
