Oguz Aral

Oguz Aral (1936 in [[Silivri], Istanbul - July 26, 2004 in Mugla Province, Bodrum) was a Turkish political cartoonist, the founder of Girgir (Fun) magazine, and creator of such characters as "Avanak Avni" (Gullible Avni), "Kostebek Husnu" (Mole Husnu), "Utanmaz Adam" (Shameless Man), and "Vites Husnu" (Gearbox Husnu). Girgir was banned after the 1980 military coup due to his outspoken opposition of its leaders, but his cartoons still ran in the paper Hurriyet until his death.
