Meadow Valley is a town located in Plumas County, California. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 575.


Meadow Valley is located at 39°56'13" North, 121°3'43" West (39.936921, -121.062051)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 22.0 km² (8.5 mi²). 22.0 km² (8.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


As of the census of 2000, there are 575 people, 263 households, and 173 families residing in the town. The population density is 26.1/km² (67.8/mi²). There are 311 housing units at an average density of 14.1/km² (36.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.26% White, 0.17% African American, 3.13% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.70% from other races, and 1.57% from two or more races. 4.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 263 households out of which 25.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.5% are married couples living together, 6.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.2% are non-families. 28.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.19 and the average family size is 2.66.

In the town the population is spread out with 21.2% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 33.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 113.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.8 males.
