Lili Boulanger

Lili Boulanger (1893-1918) was a French composer.

She was the sister of Nadia Boulanger, a well-known composer and teacher.

At the age of 21, Lili Boulanger won the Prix de Rome for her Faust et Helene. She was the first woman to win the prize.

She was a student of Gabriel Fauré.

Her life and work were overshadowed by the chronic illness (believed by most historians to have been Crohn's Disease) that cut short her life at age 24.
