Heber

Heber (חבר "Passing over (?)", Standard Hebrew Ḥéver / Ḥáver, Tiberian Hebrew Ḥéḇer / Ḥāḇer) is the grandson of the patriarch Asher mentioned in the Jewish Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament). Scholars believe that the term 'Hebrew' stems from this common ancestor of the Jews.

In the Book of Judges of the Hebrew Bible, Jael's husband, is a kenite.

In the New Testament, Heber (Hebrew spelling עבר) is found once in Luke, referring to Eber of the Old Testament.

According to some British traditions, Heber was the name of a people descending from Magog's first son Baath who were supposed to have occupied the Iberian peninsula, and Ireland (Hibernia) prior to arriving at their final destination in the Hebrides, leaving their name in each location. Prior to this Iberians were also in the east mediterranean.

Heber is a town in Arizona, USA.
