Cyprian Norwid

Cyprian Kamil Norwid (1821-1883) was one of the best Polish poets of Romanticism, prominent sculptor and painter. He did not agree style of Romanticism and he made an original style of writing. He said that patriotism of Adam Mickiewicz is "paper". Many people did not understand his poetry, therefore he died in lonely and misery. His grave is in Montmorency, Paris. Only after 100 years from his dead (in epoch of Young Poland he was acknowledge as a genius. Poetry by Norwid are full of symbols, metaphors, cipher punctuation and key-words. Therefore they are very hard to understand also today.
