Big Business

Big business refers to large corporations alleged to have disproportionate political and economic power.

Big Business is a 1929 Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy comedy short subject. The two play Christmas tree salesmen who wind up destroying a grumpy customer's house. Leo McCarey and H.M. Walker wrote the screenplay; James W. Horne and McCarey directed.

The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

Another film named Big Business appeared in the 1980s: a comedy starring Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler. It had the situation of two pairs of twins mixed up as babies. One pair (played by Tomlin and Midler) ends up in a rich family while the other pair ends up in a poor family. Both pairs run into each other in a New York hotel, creating a comedy situation.
